Beware of thieves in Milan

When walking around Milan, in the vast majority of places, and even late at night, the feeling is very safe. No violence, drunks, or gangs of threatening criminals.

Despite this, the phenomenon of pickpocketing and theft does exist and you should be careful.

The places prone to disasters are: at the public transport stations, near the stations for purchasing tickets, kiosks, banquets and the like.

Be alert! Don’t walk around with an open bag. It is better to bury the wallet in an inner compartment and it is even better to walk around with a money belt under your clothes, especially if it is a large amount of cash. Pay attention to strangers who supposedly want to “help” you buy tickets, take you around Milan or push you various gifts that you don’t need. Do not make eye contact with them and be assertive. Every major station has security and intelligence personnel that you can use when needed. In crowded and crowded places, keep your belongings close to sight. Do not bury cell phones in open pockets. This caution will pay off. It’s a shame to ruin the trip because of such an unpleasant theft.
