One of the most popular destinations for tourists in all of Italy. It is a magical city that offers a great experience for everyone: starting with a quiet and romantic gondola cruise on the city’s canals and ending with a colorful and festive entertainment as part of the annual Venice Carnival, famous for its many masks, which takes place in February.
Among the other attractions of Venice is the city’s large square, St. Mark’s Square, where the famous St. Mark’s Basilica stands. From the Campanile tower, which rises above St. Mark’s square, the most beautiful views of the city can be seen.
It is also known as the “City of Water”, sailing is the main mode of transportation in the city, the “City of Bridges”, connected by about 400 bridges, and as the “Queen of the Adriatic Sea” because it lies at the mouth of the Po River on the coast of the Adriatic Sea.
It was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1987.
