Many travelers who come to Milan are interested in visiting an outlet store but aren’t sure how to find one. That’s why we’ve gathered here some information about outlet stores in the area, a great option for some shopping other than in the many stores and boutiques available around Milan.
Il Centro shopping mall
Unlike many designer outlet stores near Milan that sell international brands for a major discount yet still a relatively high price, Il Centro mall offers brands of lower prices. It is important to understand that the culture of shopping in big shopping centers or malls isn’t as developed and common as in other countries, and people usually shop at stores scattered around the city. Il Centro is located on the city’s outskirts. It is a big shopping center with about 200 stores of popular international brands like Zara, H&M and the like, as well as some well-known European and Italian brands (Calzedonia, OVS, BATA). Primark’s department store is also present, in which you can find clothes for the entire family, house interior items and beauty products in extremely affordable prices. The mall is very pleasant to visit, it is spacious and modern. It has a food court as well as a fast food court, with a total of about 25 different restaurants. Open 7 days a week, between 09:00 and 22:00.
By car – drive to Via Luraghi 11, Arese (Milan)
Shuttle service – Shuttles depart from Milan’s central station (Stazione Centrale) every 30 minutes. A two-way ticket costs 5 Euros and can be either bought in advance or from the bus’s driver, subject to availability. Click here for details.
Public transportation – Take the red Metro line (M1) to its final stop at Rho Fiera, then take bus no. 561 to the mall.

Serravalle Outlet Store
The largest outlet store around Milan, located about 100 kilometers from the city center. It is a luxurious, well designed site, between the wide open spaces of the Piemonte and the Riviera of Liguria. This outlet belongs to the McArthurGlen Serravalle corporation that owns other similar sites around Florence, Rome, Naples and Venice. The outlet holds about 300 designer stores such as Armani, Burberry, Bvulgari, Calvin Klein, Adidas, the GAP, Replay, Versace and many more, with discounts of between 30-70 percent year round. It offers a pleasant shopping experience in a serene environment, and includes other services such as free WiFi, hospitable working crew that speaks several languages, a playground for kids, cafes and restaurants. By car – drive to Via della Moda 1, 15069 Serravalle Scrivia Alessandria
Shuttle service – Shuttles depart from Milan’s central station (Stazione Centrale) four times a day. A two-way ticket costs 20 Euros. These busses are operated by Zani Viaggi, and information about tickets and schedules can be found here.
The closest outlet store to Milan, located about 60 kilometers away from the city center. There are about 150 designer stores in this outlet, as well as lower-priced brands for clothes, shoes, beauty products and house interior items for up to 70 percent off.
This pleasant site is located in the heart of a highly touristic area, full of lakes, vineyards, wineries, castles and wonderful hiking paths. A visit to VICOLUNGO can be combined with some travelling around the area. The store occasionally hosts some interesting exhibitions, music events and other events for the entire family. In addition, it has a food court, a playground area for both smaller kids and the more grown up, a special area designated for dogs and even a bike rental service that is free of charge for kids under the age of 6.

Shuttle service – Shuttles depart from Via Foro Bonaparte 76 every day at 10:30. A two-way ticket costs 20 Euros. These busses are operated by Zani Viaggi, and further information and booking can be found here.
This is a special outlet village that lies between the lakes of Garda and Iseo, at the heart of a vineyard area that produces worldwide famous wines. It is located about an hour drive away from Milan, and has about 160 of the best international designer brands (Adidas, Baldini, Calvin Klein, Nike, Twinset, Puma, and Tommy Hilfiger, among others).
The outlet has a small playground area as well as a dog area.
In addition, day tours or half-of-day tours to the lakes and the vineyards around depart from the site or end next to it, so you can combine a touristic experience with some shopping.

By car – drive to Piazza Cascina Moie 1/2 Rodengo Saiano (BS), Italy.
Public transportation – Take a train to Brescia from Milan’s central train station (Centrale), then take bus LS029.
Shuttle service – Shuttles depart every day at 11:30 from the Zani Viaggi travel agency, at Largo Cairoli corner of Via Cusani 18. The bus arrives at the outlet store at 13:00 and leaves back to Milan at 18:00. A two-way ticket costs 20 Euros. Click here for details and booking.
FOXTOWN Factory store
This is an American-style factory store outlet, located right near the Italian-Swiss border on its Swiss side, about 50 kilometers from the center of Milan.
FOXTOWN is a large indoor mall with over 160 different international designer stores for clothes, footwear, accessories and house interior items. Previous season designer collections are sold with up to 70 percent discount. In addition, 7 food courts can be found here and even a casino! Prices are marked in Swiss francs, and international credit cards are accepted. You’ll also find a change station as well as a tax return form station for non-Italian shoppers.
Open 7 days a week, between 11:00 and 19:00.
By car – drive to Via Angelo Maspoli 18, 6850 Mendrisio, Swtizerland. Notice that for driving in Swiss roads one must purchase a special sticker (Vignette) that costs about 40 Euros and can be purchased at the border.
By train – Take the SBB Swiss company train to Mendrisio S. Martino from Milan’s central train station (Centrale), located within a 2-minute walk from the outlet store. The train ride is 70 minutes long. Click here to visit the train’s website.
Shuttle service – The Zani Viaggi travel agency operates shuttles twice a day from Milan to FOXTOWN. A two-way ticket costs 20 Euros. Most outlet stores are closed on January 1st and on December 25th-26th.
In addition, it is advised to check the store’s website for opening hours during public holidays.
In most of the stores you’ll find a tax return desk in which you can get the required forms. You’ll need to take your passport in order to do so.
